The gutters before and after
This picture does not show it very well, but the old cast iron guttering was shot and the fascia board was rotten in places. I cleaned and painted the fascia board and covered it with some fascia capping. I replaced the guttering with deeper plastic guttering, as it is a big roof, and kept the original cast iron downpipes. I removed them, cleaned off all the old paint and repainted them in black. I also had to shorten them to fit, as everything was now a couple of inches lower.
